Moraitis was an important abstract-expressionist artist, actively heading shows throughout the 1950’s-70’s and continued his Greek-American heritage artwork until his end in 1994. Awarded First Prize by the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) at the 1966 Long Island Arts Festival. His work is owned by as well as commissioned by some of the following: Columbus, Stonybrook & Parrish Museums, R. Kennedy estate, Christopher’s in Pittsburgh PA, P/M Andreas Papandreou, Μelina Merkouri etc.
