A particularly timeless and glamorous work of the multifaceted creator Gaitis, in which his recurring concern with negotiating the recognizable shape is apparent. The sarcastic disposition and caustic humor of the famous yet uncompromising Greek modernist is evident; the dynamic, pulsating red surface of the painting he creates, ridicules even, an encrypted visual story. Anthropomorphic symbols are used as means of irony and social criticism, crystallizing his narratives and clearly pointing to the existential loneliness of people due to society’s modern massification and consumption. As a catalyst, he uses his critical skill to transform the narrative, enigmatic and at the same time poetic dimension of the shape into a commentary on the alienation and leveling of modern man.
