An incredibly masterful academic realism in this still life with onions, rendered with absolute photographic truth cancelled by the starry sky/background mocking the traditional pictorial perception of the viewer. The incomparably realistic rendering of still life also exists in the background that surrounds it. The unfamiliar coexistence of two almost absolute truths on the same painting surface constitutes an unreal narrative referring to the dream space. A work with dynamics of opposite conjugations to coexist in the same work with absolute contradiction strengthening it.
