Representative work of the subversive visionary Gaitis with the negotiation of the here recognizable double oversized form that preoccupied him and negotiated it obsessively. The two figures are rendered expressionless, mute, rigid and tragically identical. The uncompromising and well-known Greek modernist uses the painting surfaire to create or almost caricature these forms in their geometric enclosure reducing them to a medium for social criticism and irony.He criticizes the apathetic, inflexible, and impersonal aspect of the contemporary lifestyle, vividly symbolising it. With his brush he comments on the existential isolation people experience as a result of consumerism and the mass culture of our era.
