A particularly tender and simultaneously dynamic creation from the 1950s by Gaitis, exploring a geometric ideal that had previously appeared in his sculptures and would later appear in his drawings and oils. This work was created during a period when Gaitis played a significant role in the intellectual life of Athens, introducing the concept of “new demons”.  Forms originating from psychoanalytic surrealism result in a personal and unique surrealistic idiom. The work masterfully brings together strong contours and dynamic lines to create cohesive volumes.
