This impressive relatively large-sized work by Bouzianis exhibits a high-quality expressionism. In a space shaped with rough brushstrokes the artist transforms the figure into an interior landscape of inner psychic states. He masterfully achieves the existential capture and dynamic submission of the figure with an aesthetic charm of the flesh. Through distortion identity is abolished. Devoid of features, gaze, limbs, at once unrealistic and primordial, the work is an almost aniconic representation that is devoid of any intent to embellish. Altered and roughly deconstructed it acquires profound aesthetic symbolism, subjectivism and introspection.
