Oikonomou Michael (1888-1933)

An impressionist recognised as one of the greatest Greek painters of the inter war period.

• First studied art with Konstantinos Volanakis.
• His pictorial work consists almost exclusively of landscapes from southern France and Greece, depicted in a sentimental, dreamlike way. He was largely recognized and honoured posthumously.
